Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) is the skilling and placement initiative of the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India. DDU-GKY has its origins in the Aajeevika Skills programme and the ‘Special Projects’ component of the Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY). The scheme focuses on catering to the occupational aspirations of rural youth and enhancing their skills for wage employment.

ESDM

The Telangana Government is planning to make Hyderabad as the hub of Electronic System Design Manufacturing (ESDM). Government of Telangana is pursuing to attract investments into the two ESDM clusters at e-City Manufacturing Cluster and Maheshwaram Science Park. NDLM

The Digital Saksharta Abhiyan (DISHA) or National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) Scheme has been formulated to impart IT training to 52.5 lakh persons, including Anganwadi and ASHA workers and authorised ration dealers in all the States/UTs across the country so that the non-IT literate citizens are trained to become IT literate so as to enable them to actively and effectively participate in the democratic and developmental process and also enhance their livelihood.

Features of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana

Project implementation agency (PIA)

  • All candidates will receive training free of cost
  • Providing one time assistance for transport
  • providing free lodging and food during training
  • Providing post placement support for six months
  • Providing post-placement counseling, facilitation and tracking for one year
  • Providing training in a number of trades that do not require formal education
  • Tabs will be provided to the candidates during the period of Training sessions
  • Well infrastructed class rooms will be provided
  • Candidates who complete their training and get placed will receive post placement support of
  • All candidates will get uniform within one month of training duration
  • One pair in case of 3 month or 6 month course
    Two pairs in case of 9 month or 12 month course
  • A bank account will be opened by the PIA for all candidates on or before freezing date of the batch.
  • All candidates will get DDU-GKY Skills Training Certificate on completion of training
  • All candidates will receive training material free of cost including work books, note books and other study materials.
  • At the time of placement, candidate will be given a Preliminary Offer Letter from the PIA which lists down the expected remuneration and terms and conditions of employment. The candidate will receive this before leaving his/her native place for the job
  • Inclusive Program Design which involves mandatory coverage of socially disadvantaged groups (SC/ST 50%, Minority 15%, Women 33%)

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

I am aware that, this is the programme being conducted under the DDU-GKY/ PIA administered by Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. I understand that, this initiative is to support me for acquiring skills and facilitate employment opportunity. To make the programme successful I undertake the following:
i. I will cooperate with all my trainers, fellow trainees, centre in charge, hostel warden and other people available in the centre
ii. I will come to the class on time and try to learn as much as possible from the class
iii. I will do all my homework and submit to my trainers on time
iv. I will try to attend each and every class. Further, I am aware that if my attendance is counted less than 85% then I will be debarred from the training programme
v. This training centre is mine, I will protect and maintain the cleanliness in the centre and hostel facilities (strike through if not applicable) provided to me
vi. I shall not use the mobile phone or such equipment which may cause interruption in the training and affect others
vii. I will share all the documents/information required by the programme
viii. My ultimate object to enter in the programme is getting placement. However, There is not guarantee that I must get placement
ix. I may not get employment near to my home
x. I will not misbehave with my employer and I will report all of my problem to my training provider
xi. I may not get same kind of facilities during training and employment
xii. I will try to get employed for atleast 3 months to success the programme
xiii. I am the residence of Krishna/Prakasham/khammam/Karimnagar Districts

I understand that the organization can drop me from training programme if found guilty of any theft or breakage to the infrastructure or any inappropriate behavior with the classmates, faculties, administrative staff and other stakeholders

ABOUT PMKVY

So far there is no detailed update but the yojana aims to provide jobs to:
  • Youth of Above 15 Yrs
  • He/she Should Have minimum Knowledge on Basic Computer Skills
  • The Registered Candidate Will Be Called For An Interview by the PIA Team
  • Applicant has to provide Aadhar card number, mobile number, PAN card or election card.

Features & Benefits of PMKVY:
  • Objective is to train 10 million youths with an estimated training cost of Rs. 12,000 crores.

  • Increasing the productivity of the skilled individuals which would be used for nation’s development
  • All candidates will receive training free of cost

The former is envisaged in an extent of 602 acres, and the latter is of 310 acres.Government of Telangana has identified some of the critical factors for building a cohesive Electronics manufacturing cluster.

Types of Courses to be covered:

The scheme is proposed to facilitate all kinds of Non-formal skill oriented courses that could go on evolving as per industry requirement as per the following broad parameters:

  • Designed, evolved, recognized by ESSCI/NIELIT/TSSC
  • Standard courses conducted by ITIs, other govt. training institutions could also be included
  • To be conducted by agencies/institutions recognized/accredited by ESSCI/NIELIT/TSSC
  • Courses are to be in line with National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) at various Levels (i.e. upto Level 5) in a modular way
  • Duration of courses could range from 200 hrs to 400 hrs.
  • Could be imparted in part-time mode or full-time mode.
  • Course fee could be arrived at depending on no. of hours, level of expertise involved and type of investment required for creating training infrastructure, labs, etc.
  • All courses to follow a uniform training process prescribed by ESSCI/NIELIT/TSSC.
  • All candidates trained by various agencies to acquire certificate by ESSCI/NIELIT/TSSC to become eligible for financial assistance.

ABOUT NDLM

National Digital Literacy Mission (NDLM) operates with a vision to create a consortium with multiple stakeholders and operate together with government and their other schemes and schedules to display in some of the Indian panchayats constituencies that how empowering them digitally can change the scenario of governance, social inclusion, empowerment, employment and educational approach.

Training Provided Under NDLM

Two levels of training is offered under NDLM scheme.

  • Level 1 - Appreciation of Digital Literacy

    This module aims to make an individual IT literate and impart the necessary skills to operate digital devices including tablets and mobile phones etc. Also, after this module the person must be able to receive mails, send mails and use the internet to search for necessary information.

    The course duration is 20 hours and a minimum of 10 days to maximum of 30 days.

  • Level 2 - Basics of Digital Literacy

    This module aims at offering an advanced level of digital literacy to individuals. The citizens would be trained to access e-Governance services effectively and also to use the services offered by other agencies.

    The duration of this level 2 module is 40 hours and a minimum of 20 days to a maximum of 60 days.

Eligibility and Documentation for NDLM

The eligibility criteria for NDLM is as follows.

  • For level 1 examination, the individual must be a non-IT literate or illiterate and must have passed up to 7th standard.
  • For level 2 module and examination, the person must be a non-IT literate and at least 8th standard pass.

The documentation required to enroll in level 1 and level 2 modules for NDLM is as follows.

For Anganwadi workers, ration dealers and ASHA workers
  • Official ID is mandatory.
  • Aadhaar card at the time of registration.
For General Candidates
  • BPL card for families below poverty line
  • For reserved categories, caste certificate is mandatory
  • At the time of registration, Aadhaar card is mandatory.
